Weird Places Göreme National Park

Goreme National Park in Turkey's Cappadocia region is known for its unique rock formations, resembling scenes from Star Wars. These formations, created by volcanic activity millions of years ago, have been shaped by natural forces into various structures like fairy chimneys. People have lived in these formations for over a thousand years, using them as homes and sanctuaries. However, living in these rocks poses health risks due to exposure to aryanite, a carcinogenic mineral. The Turkish government is working to provide alternative housing to mitigate these risks.
