China to test facial recognition on world's longest sea bridge

Beijing is implementing advanced technology at border crossings, including facial recognition, fingerprint analysis, and thermal scans, initially at one immigration lane in Telefusion. The technology is 99.5% accurate and matches drivers and cars with pre-registered data. Additionally, facial recognition will monitor driver alertness, triggering an alarm if yawning is detected three times. Cross-border bus and truck drivers will also undergo these checks, as their data is already held by Chinese authorities.
