ERG Theory

Clayton Aldefer's ERG theory modifies Maslow's hierarchy of needs by grouping them into three categories: existence, relatedness, and growth. Unlike Maslow's hierarchical approach, ERG theory suggests these needs coexist and can be pursued simultaneously. Aldefer also introduced the frustration regression hypothesis, which posits that unmet needs can lead individuals to focus on other needs. ERG theory emphasizes the interrelatedness of needs and the flexibility in addressing them.
