VOICED : Investigan hallazgo de 12 cadáveres en el este de México

Mexican authorities are investigating the discovery of 12 tortured bodies in Veracruz. The bodies were found in El Amate, Las Choapas. A source from the National Guard suggested the victims were suspected kidnappers killed by local autodefensas. Autodefensas are common in the area. In 2017, an elected mayor was killed for alleged involvement in fuel and cattle theft. Veracruz has seen increasing violence due to conflicts between the Jalisco New Generation cartel and Los Zetas.
