Landmarks - Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat, built in the 12th century, is a marvel of Khmer architecture, admired for its grandeur and intricate details. Located near Siem Reap, it was constructed using sandstone and laterite. The temple combines two architectural styles and symbolizes Mount Meru from Hindu mythology. Historically, it faced plundering and abandonment but was later restored. Since the 1990s, it has become a major tourist destination and part of the Angkor World Heritage Site.
