VOICED : Cuba revisa a la baja a 2% previsión de crecimiento para 2021

Cuba's Ministry of Economy announced that the country will not meet its 2021 growth target of 6%. The economy fell by 14% in the first quarter but recovered by 7.5% in the second. The GDP dropped by 10.9% in 2020 due to the pandemic's impact on tourism, marking the worst decline since 1993. Despite reopening borders in November, Cuba will not reach the projected 2.2 million visitors, far from the pre-pandemic 4 million. Import reductions have worsened food and medicine shortages.
