VOICED : Perú inicia ensayos en 6.000 voluntarios de vacuna china contra covid-19

The clinical trials for a COVID-19 vaccine by Sinopharm have started in Peru, involving 6,000 volunteers. Two universities, Cayetano Heredia and San Marcos, are overseeing the trials. Volunteers, aged 18-75, were selected quickly online. The trial uses a double-blind method, with groups receiving either the Wuhan strain, Beijing strain, or a placebo. A Chinese scientific mission is supervising the project, expected to conclude in December. Peru, heavily impacted by COVID-19, is the third in Latin America for pandemic-related deaths.
