What is an Amphibian?

Amphibians are unique creatures with a dual life cycle, starting in water and transitioning to land. They are divided into three main groups: Anura (frogs and toads), Caudata (newts and salamanders), and Caecilians. Amphibians have soft, moist skin, making them prone to dehydration, and their eggs must be laid in water. They undergo metamorphosis, transforming from aquatic larvae to land-dwelling adults, but must return to water to reproduce.
