China hosted its first international peacekeeping exercise, 'Destino Común 2021', in Henan province, involving soldiers from China, Pakistan, Thailand, and Mongolia. The exercise aimed to simulate real-world conditions with roles such as refugees and militants. It demonstrated China's support for the UN's multilateral system. As of July 31, China had 2,158 military personnel in global peacekeeping missions, ranking eighth in troop contributions, with deployments in South Sudan, Mali, Lebanon, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
