Holloway's career includes roles at the University of California, San Diego, Yale College, and Northwestern University. During his tenure at Yale, he faced criticism for his initial silence during student protests about systemic racism, for which he later apologized. Holloway will assume his new role at Rutgers in July, succeeding the retiring Robert Barchi.
