VOICED : Chile investigara casos de DDHH dentro de las Fuerzas Armadas

The Chilean Ministry of Defense has established a new unit to gather information on human rights violations during Pinochet's dictatorship. This initiative aims to break the silence within the military and assist judicial processes investigating crimes such as kidnappings, murders, and torture. Despite numerous ongoing investigations, many cases remain unresolved due to a pact of silence. The unit is a response to criticism of the military's lack of cooperation in providing information about the dictatorship's crimes, which resulted in 3,200 victims.
