NASA | 2009 Tied For Second Hottest Year Ever Recorded

GISS released an analysis showing 2009 as the second warmest year globally and the warmest in the Southern hemisphere. Over the past three decades, global temperatures have risen by about 1/3 degree Fahrenheit per decade. Since 1880, there's been a 1.5-degree Fahrenheit increase. The warming trend is attributed mainly to rising greenhouse gases. To limit climate change, CO2 emissions need to decrease. Data from weather stations, satellites, and Antarctic research were used in the analysis.
