VOICED : Por primera vez Colombia esta en tregua con el ELN

The ELN guerrilla and Colombian Armed Forces have agreed to a truce for the first time in over fifty years. This ceasefire, part of negotiations in Quito, is set to last until January 9. Prior to the truce, violence resulted in five deaths, including three police officers and a guerrilla leader. The guerrillas pledged to halt attacks and recruitment of minors, while the government agreed to improve prison conditions and protect social leaders. Both parties aim to end the last conflict in the Americas, following the peace agreement with FARC. The truce will be monitored by the UN, government, rebels, and the Catholic Church.
