عقبة بن نافع: بناء القيروان

Uqba ibn Nafi envisioned establishing a city to serve as a secure base for the Islamic army. He discovered a densely wooded area called Qamuniya, which was uninhabited due to its wildlife. Uqba ordered the area to be cleared of dangerous animals, and once it was safe, he declared it the site of Kairouan. The construction of the city, including a mosque, began and continued for several years.
