The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) is a global network of reporters uncovering international crimes, corruption, and abuse of power. Recently, they distributed 11.5 million documents, known as the Panama Papers, revealing secret cross-border deals by associates of world leaders and celebrities. The documents, from the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca, involve 214,000 offshore companies and expose numerous politicians and officials. The Panama Papers were obtained by a German journalist from an anonymous source, highlighting the issue of undeclared offshore accounts.
