A train fell in a ravine due to a sabotage on the bridge

A railway sabotage near Purwakarta led to significant loss of life and damage. Five railway workers died and seven were injured when saboteurs dismantled the tracks, causing two locomotives to fall into a ravine. Despite the chaos, railway workers and soldiers restored service between Batavia and Bandung within two days. The sabotage, caused by removing bolts, resulted in an estimated three million gulden in damages. After the derailment, terrorists fired on survivors and looted the wreckage.
