Why is a leap year called a "leap" year?
Named after an early mathematician Julius Leap who first pushed for the introduction of the leap year.
People would leap for joy about having an extra day in the year as it was a special holiday.
If 3rd of September 1999 was a Friday it bcomes a Sunday in 2000 (leap year), hence leaping Saturday.
The sun leaps over the moon during that year hence causing the additional day.
