What is the Culture Composition?
The Culture Composition is a school-wide system of reward for our scholars when they behave well. This includes award assemblies and going over the routines on a monthly basis.
The Culture Composition is a shared, unified way to teach and train scholars on every school-wide procedure and certain classroom-wide procedures so that classrooms look and feel urgent in the same way (highly consistent), and are very predictable for scholars and teachers.

What is the rationale for Habit #5?
Choral response is a gauge for scholar attention and engagement throughout a lesson. The repetition is beneficial for solidifying key points. Through choral response, teachers can build team and clarity of main ideas.
Scholars transition 5-7 times per day. We must get scholars from one place to another quickly and safely in order to maximize instructional time and ensure that each member of our community arrives on time.
Independent Work is at the heart of learning. Scholars must be 100% focused on the task at hand. Stamina is a key ingredient to high quality independent work. At the same time it’s important that scholars are keeping their bodies still and their voices off to ensure they are not distracting their peers.
We want to ensure that all scholars are safe in school. SCHOLAR POSITION dictates that you keep your hands together in your own personal space. It also ensures that you are sitting up, tracking the teacher, and are engaged in the lesson. When scholars are freed from distractions, they can focus all of their attention on instruction.
