Conjugations v. Infinitives

(Re-teach)

15

Every single verb has:
--1 infinitive form &
--lots of conjugated forms (lots of conjugations).

16

Every verb starts off with the infinitive

  • just gives info about what the action is

  • no info about who is doing it or when

  • always "to (action)" (ex. to drive, to sing, to walk)

17

How to CONJUGATE a verb

  • start with the infinitive (ex. to walk)

  • take out the "to" & replace it with the noun doing the action (ex. he walk)

  • change the ending of the verb to match who's doing it (ex. he walks)

  • that "s" makes it a conjugation - in other words, "walks" is a conjugation of "to walk"
