What is a pushup?

Compound exercise

Strengthens the shoulders, chest, back, core, and glutes

How do I do a pushup?

Step One

-Start in a baby crawl position

-Hands shoulder width apart

-Align shoulders, elbows, and hands

Step Two

-Step legs back

-Maintain shoulder, elbow, and hand alignment

-Keep neck and spine neutral

-Flex abs and glutes

Step 3

-Start with arms locked out

-Flex core and glutes

-Breathe in nose

-Slowly bend your arms

-Maintain neutral spine and neck

Final step!

Once elbows reach 90 degrees

-Push the body up

-Squeeze core and glutes

-Keep spine neutral

-Lockout arms

Cant do a push up?

If you can't do a push up don't give up!

Instead try practicing negative pushups

Just follow step 1-3 try to do so as slow as possible

If you keep practicing eventually you will be able to do pushups like a pro!

Too Easy?

Make the tempo of the pushup slower during eccentric

Kee hands shoulder width apart but move hands from chest to hip area
