Flexion- angle in the joint decreases (bend)

Extension- angle in the joint increases (straighten)

Abduction- away from the midline (star)

Supine- dorsal side up, anterior portion up (belly up) ex: cup of soup

Prone- ventral side up, posterior portion up (back up) ex: back of hand
