Structure

• The second conditional is composed of 2 clauses. Clauses are smaller sentences that form a longer sentence

• "IF" clause: IF + SUBJECT + VERB IN PAST TENSE + OBJECT

• "WOULD" clause: SUBJECT + WOULD/COULD/MIGHT + VERB IN INFINITIVE+ OBJECT

• Ex: If Peter studied harder, he would get better marks
