​When do we use Present Continuous?

​- for things that are happening at the moment of speaking.

I am working at the moment.

​How do we form present continuous?

Present simple form of BE​ + -ing form of the verb:

​I am singing.

​She is playing piano.

We are watching TV.

​Remember:

When the infinitive ends in ​-e, we usually replace -e with -ing:

​dance- dancing, phone - phoning

​When infinitive ends in a single vowel plus consonant, we often double the consonant before adding -ing

​chat-chatting, stop-stopping

​Present continuous. Negative form

we use NOT after the verb to be​:

​ I am NOT singing.

​He is NOT (isn't) playing.

​They are NOT (aren't) cooking.

Interrogative form:​

Is ​she playing piano now? Yes, she is. No, she is not.

​Are the eating an ice-cream? Yes, they are. No, they are not.
