COUNTABLE NOUNS

Countable nouns can be counted. Apples, pencils, cars, children.... 

They take articles such as a or an. An apple, a pencil....

When asking we need to use.. How many....?

UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS

They are nouns that cannot be count. Sugar, milk, water, oil, rice,....

They cannot take a or an. Some can be used.

• They cannot have plural forms. Sugars, oils

Uncountable nouns need a quantifier in order to be able to be count. For example:

• A cup of tea

• A glass of juice

• A piece of cake

• A slice of cheese, of bread
