Mercenary: A person or military group that gets paid to fight someone else's war
Guerrilla: A form of warfare in which civilians use military tactics including ambushes, sabotage, and hit-and-runs to fight a larger traditional military.
Militia: A group of people not in the military (usually veterans) who do what the military does including collecting weapons, training soldiers, and defending people or land.
Revolution: Movement towards change.

George Washington
Washington was the leader of the Colonial Forces and later became the 1st President. During the Revolution he was known for clever tactics that stumped and confused the British Forces.

Thomas Paine
Wrote 13 Pamphlets called "The American Crisis." His inspiring words encouraged soldiers during the first brutal winter of the Revolution.

Benjamin Franklin
Sailed to France during the war to ask for their help. After a year of begging he was able to secure their help fighting the British.
