The Farmers were angry!!
Why were they angry?

Causes of Shay's Rebellion:
Farmers were upset about the amount of taxes that had been placed on
Land was also being taken away
Due to the weakness of the Government, nothing could be done.
Seized the courthouse and the jail and freed those who were in side due to not being able to pay the high taxes ( debtors)

As a result of the high taxes imposed on farmers in order to fund debt that came from the war:
Farmers petitioned state legislators
the petition asked for more paper money
stay laws ( forbidding the collection of debts)
