The indicator

  • Indicators are important for knowing if a substance is an acid or an alkali.

  • There are two types of indicators

  • One is the Litmus paper and the oher one is a liquid form of litmus.

Colour changes for indications

  • In a red litmus paper the acid is red

  • but the alkali is blue

  • In a blue litmus paper the acid is red and the alkali stays blue
