  • Ionic compounds: NO PREFIXES. Transitions need roman numeral. NO PREFIXES. Keep polyatomic name the same. NO PREFIXES

  • Covalent compounds: NO CHARGES. You use the prefixes!

  • BOTH: Criss cross charges to get subscripts (top cross over to bottom).
