Present perfect
A period of time which continues up to the present moment (since, for)
I've lived there for four years. --> still live there
I've lived there since June. --> still live there

Past simple
Period of time which is finished (for)
I lived there for four years. --> don't live there now

negative: for unfinished actions and events often with still or yet:
I still haven't sent the email.
I haven't sent the email yet.
Still and yet are always used with the negative in the present perfect.
Still - before the verb ; yet - after the verb
