There are three parts of the US Constitution. They are:
1. The Preamble
2. The Articles
3. The Amendments

The PREAMBLE
Has no legal value
It is actually just ONE sentence
It was the Founding Fathers' way of informing future generations of the goals of the new government under the Constitution
Describes the basic principles to be listed in the document
"We the People" are most well-known words of the Constitution

The ARTICLES
There are 7 of them
They are original legislation from the CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION
The articles set up the BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT
Article 1 - Legislative
Article 2 - Executive
Article 3 - Judicial
This part of the documents sets up the organization & powers of the new government
