When using reflexive verbs...

  • the verb is always conjugated to the subject pronoun

  • the reflexive pronoun follows the verb

  • if you are not being specific use the accusative (Ex. I shower- ich dusche mich)

  • if you are being specific use dative (Ex. I wash my hair- ich dusche mir die Haare)

Dative reflexives

The reflexive pronoun appears in the dative case when it functions as a direct object.

ich- mir

du - dir


Ex. I comb my hair (Ich kämme mir die Haare).


All the other pronouns stay the same.
