Claim

• Claims are, essentially, the evidence that writers or speakers use to prove their point.

• Examples of Claim: A teenager who wants a new cellular phone makes the following claims: Every other girl in her school has a cell phone.

Evidence

• the available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief or proposition is true or valid.

• The footprints in the house are an example of evidence that someone came inside.

Reasoning

• Reasoning is defined as logical or sensible thinking. When you think through a problem to try to find a sensible solution

• an example of reasoning: The drawing of inferences or conclusions from known or assumed facts; use of reason.

Evidence
