pronoun + auxillary + past participle

j' ai regardé = I (have) watched

tu as regardé = you (singular) (have) watched

il/elle a regardé = he/she (has) watched

on a regardé = we (informal) (have) watched

nous avons regardé = we (have) watched

vous avez regardé = you (plural/ singular formal) (have) watched

ils/elles ont regardé = they (have) watched

Some verbs use the auxillary "être"

to form the perfect tense.

• aller > je suis allé = I went

• rentrer> tu es rentré = you went in

• arriver > il est arrivé = he (has) arrived

• monter> on est monté = we went up

• sortir > nous sommes sorti(e)s = we went out

• partir> vous êtes parti(e)s = you went away

• rester > elles sont restées = they(f) (have) stayed
