The Role of RNA

• Ribonucleic Acid, like DNA, is a nucleic acid.

• In order to go from DNA to a protein, our bodies (and all life) use RNA to direct the production of proteins.

So what differences do we see?

• Well, looks DNA is a double helix and RNA is single stranded.

• Also, DNA has thymine and RNA has uracil for a nitrogenous base.

• Looks like the sugars are different too.

Let's try to understand this analogy and how it relates to DNA to RNA to a protein!
