WB: p 46-47
Work in teams to draw how particles are arranged in different states of matter.
Use CB: p70 to help you.
4
PRACTICE:
As a group, arrange yourselves as if you are the particles in a solid. (turn to next slide)
5
Liquids
Now, imagine the particles are being heated.
First, move slowly as the solid gently melts.
Then, move faster, as more heat is applied to the solid, making the solid turn into liquid.
(next slide)
6
Gas
You are all arranged as particles in a liquid.
Now, the liquid is being heated, at first slowly (move gently) and then more until the liquid start to boil.
The particles are now heated enough so that the liquid is boiling and it starts evaporating.
Arrange as if you are particles in a gas.
