• USE THE PLANNING SHEET to make sure your ideas are organized.

• You should have 2 or 3 DIFFERENT ideas for the topic. Respect each idea by giving it its own paragraph.

• Lastly make sure you are answering the question correctly. After you come up with your reasons go back and read the prompt again to be sure that you are on topic before you begin writing.

• Your evidence MUST support your reason!

• The elaboration makes the connection between the evidence and reason.

• Do not have RUN on sentences. Break up the ideas by using commas, semi-colons, and period.
