The Life of a Tadpole
The life of a tadpole starts when the tadpole hatches from its egg. About 6 days after hatching, the tadpole grows a tale and gills. For about 80 days the tadpole can only live underwater. Then, around the 84th day, the tadpole grows legs. After this, the tadpole begins to look more like an adult frog, until finally, it loses its tale and is able to hop on land or swim in the water!

Skippy and the Birds
One day, skippy the squirrel was playing with Joey the chipmunk at the bottom of the big oak tree in Ms. Hargett’s back yard. It was a beautiful day! Skippy looked up and saw that Singalinga the blue jay was taking care of her ckicks in her next at the top of the tree. Skippy noticed that one of the chicks was reaching out over the edge of the next for a worm on a nearby branch, when all of a sudden, because the chick tipped to far out of the nest, it began to fall. So Skippy dashed as fast as he could up the side of the tree, and caught the baby bird before it hit the ground.
“Thank you, Skippy!” Sang Singalinga. “If it weren’t for you, my baby would have fallen and hurt its wing.”
