Volume

Volume is the space inside a 3D shape!

You might think about volume when:

• filling up your gas tank with gas

• thinking about how much water is in a swimming pool or hot tub

• filling up measuring cups when you are baking

• filling up your glass with water, or chocolate milk :)

How do you find volume?

You multiply the LENGTH x WIDTH x HEIGHT. (So just like area, but now we also multiply by the height!).

Length x Width x Height

Because we are measuring 3D shapes, we say 27 cm³ ("cubed").
