Are used when you describe things that are not equal:


+Comparatives for two things.

+Superlatives for two or more things.

Comparatives

  • After comparatives you can use "than"

  • We use -er for short words. Ex; cheap-cheaper/ large-larger / fast -faster / small-smaller.

  • Also use -er for two -syllable words that end in -y (-y---ier). Ex; lucky- luckier/ easy-easier/ early- earlier.

  • We use more ... for longer words (two syllables or more): Ex; more serious / more expensive / more comfortable.
