Corvées/Passé Composé

For the Passé Composé we need 3 parts:

• subject

• conjugated form of avoir ou être (for moving verbs)

• past participle

Which verbs are considered helping verbs, so we CONJUGATE them first in the passé composé?

• faire

• aller

• avoir

• être

Past Participles/Action Verbs

• After we conjugate avoir or être, we then need the PAST tense of the action verb

• Don't forget if you're using être as your helping verb, you may need to add an e, s, or es to agree with the subject (e.g. elle est allée)

• *None of the chores vocabulary uses être, but if you choose to use a moving verb (aller, arriver, sortir, etc.) don't forget this rule!

For REGULAR past participles:

• ER Verbs

• drop the "ER" and add "é"

• IR Verbs

• drop the "IR" and add "i"

• RE Verbs

• drop the "RE" and add "u"
