• Chức năng của Trạng từ

• Trạng từ đuôi -ly

Trạng từ (Adv)

1. Trạng từ (Adv) bổ nghĩa cho động từ (V) hoặc tính từ (A).

He drives (V) slowly (Adv).

She is fairly (Adv) tall (A).

Trạng từ slowly và fairly bổ nghĩa cho động từ drives và tính từ tall.

So sánh: He is a slow (A) driver (N).

[Không dùng a slowly driver]

2. Có nhiều trạng từ tận cùng bằng

-ly. Những trạng từ này thường diễn tả sự việc xảy ra như thế nào.

He was driving carefully.

My brother did his work successfully.



Trạng từ (Adv)

Những trạng từ tận cùng bằng -ly phần lớn được thành lập từ tính từ.

quicky + ly = quickly

betiful + ly = beautifully

3. Lưu ý khi thêm -ly

a. Tính từ tận cùng bằng -y → -ily

easy → easily

b. Tính từ tận cùng bằng -ble → -bly

possible → possibly

c. Tính từ tận cùng bằng -ic → -ically

automatic → automatically
