PEMDAS

2
Parenthesis
Parenthesis is first no matter the order of numbers
Example: 10-(3*3)= 1
3
Exponents
Exponents are next in order after completing the parenthesis, if applicable
Example: 4+7-32= 2
4
Multiplication/Division
Multiplication/division is next in order. Just how you read left to right, is how you will determine if you multiply or divide first.
In other words, if division is first, then perform that operation, followed by the multiplication step.
Example: 8/2*6 = 24
5
Addition/Subtraction
Same rule applies here for adding and subtracting, whichever comes first from left to right.
Example: 8-3+2*3 = 11
