The Concept
We use The Present Perfect Tense to express these conditions:
1. Something that happened at some unspecified time in someone's life. (or other period of time that continues up until the present)
Example :
I have been to Gayo Lues.
This means I went to Gayo Lues at sometime in my life. We don't know when or how many times.

2. Something that started in the past and continues up until now
Example:
We have lived in Malang for 20 years
This sentence means:
We moved to Malang 20 years ago and still live there now

3. Something that happened in the past and has some result or relevance to the present.
Example :
You have split some tea
This means that You recently split some tea. There is tea on the floor. It needs cleaning up.
