media

Anthropomorphism

the attribution of human characteristics or behavior to a god, animal, or object.

4

What's the difference?

(adapted from https://prowritingaid.com/art/812/anthropomorphism-%26-personification%3A-what-s-the-difference.aspx

Anthropomorphism is literal, e.g. animals or objects who talk, think, or behave like humans ("humanoid").

Personification is figurative, where the author implies or the reader infers that the animal or object behaves, thinks, or feels as a human would.
