​Land Bridge

A land bridge formed between Asia and the Americas because ​the Earth's waters formed ice during the ICE AGE and the water level in the oceans dropped, exposing the land.

​Hohokum Houses

​The Hohokum adapted to the climate of the Southwest by building homes partly underground. This helped to keep them cool during the day and warm at night.

​The Navajo were originally hunters and gatherers, but they adapted to their desert climate. They learned farming from the Pueblo. They learned to herd sheep and cattle from the Spanish. The Spanish also taught them how to ride horses.
