​Subject of a Clause

​A clause is another word for a sentence.

​CLAUSE = SENTENCE

​A subject is the Who or What of a sentence.

​e.g.

​The boy...

​An animal...

​We...

​Predicate of a Clause

​Clause = Sentence

​Predicate is the rest of the sentence, starting with the VERB

​VERB: the action of the subject in a sentence.

​...is mowing the lawn.

​...was prowling in the cage at the zoo.

​...jumped for joy when we got to the amusement park.

​In order to have a complete sentence, each sentence must have a complete subject and a complete predicate.
