​tells us:

in what way (manner) something is done

​(basically equivalent to an adverb - cum celeritate, "with speed" = quickly)

​Ablative of Accompaniment

​tells us:

with whom something is done

​Manner & Accompaniment

both usually have cum or sine as prep

  • ​but prep can be left out sometimes for manner, especially if there's an adjective

Manner: abstract noun ​

Accompaniment: person noun

are translated:

Manner:

Daphne cum celeritate currit

"Daphne runs with great speed"

Accompaniment:
