tells us:
in what way (manner) something is done
(basically equivalent to an adverb - cum celeritate, "with speed" = quickly)
Ablative of Accompaniment
tells us:
with whom something is done

Manner & Accompaniment
both usually have cum or sine as prep
but prep can be left out sometimes for manner, especially if there's an adjective
Manner: abstract noun
Accompaniment: person noun

are translated:
"with ___" or "without ___"
Manner:
Daphne cum celeritate currit
"Daphne runs with great speed"
Accompaniment:
Acteon cum canibus currit
"Acteon runs with his dogs"
