Find the solution set of  x2 + 7x +12 > 0.

Step 1. Change the inequality to standard form of quadratic equation ax2 + bx + c = 0.

                x2 + 7x +12 = 0

Step 2. Find the value of x by using any of the 4 methods in solving quadratic equation.

                     x = - 3,      x = - 4

 

Step 3. Make 3 intervals.

b.) for -4 < x < - 3 ,  let x = -3.1:
