What evidence suggests that the continents werent always in the same places as they are now?

Well, There are multiple bits of evidence for this subject. One of them is that glaciers caused some of Earths change. If you have ever seen a U-shaped valley, its from glaciers running down mountains like a frozen river, taking from the earth. There is also the Continental Drift theory.
A theory indicating that Earths land used to be connected. This theory existed because in the 1600s it was found that some continents fit together like puzzle pieces, but wasn't believed because they couldn't believe how such large pieces of land could move such far distances.
