​A run-on sentence

​It has two or more independent clauses that are not combined correctly.

​A clause

A group of words that has a subject and a verb.

​We have 2 types of clauses

​

​Independent Clause

An independent clause can be a sentence. It is independent! Free to do what they want! They can take care of themselves!​

​Dependent Clause

​A dependent clause is missing a subject or a verb. It cannot be alone and needs help!

​A dependent clause uses a conjunction to stick to an independent clause.

​

​I haven't seen the cat today he must be hiding.

​To fix this...

​Write them separately! Break them into two sentences!
